Drifting Off on a Branch (Pt. 2)
Caffeinated Ants and The Hill
June B.
Caffeinated ants
run around ‘til
they return to earth
then to plants. Still,
the wind provides
cool for the ant hill.
And the mound
rearranges into sand.
Seals lay around
and soak the sun up.
The old man
tells jokes ‘til his guy busts.
The mother splits the food.
Though, there’s not much.
And the sun graces the kid’s
cheek with a warm touch.
What a petty picture of a
mundane scene.
There are many blessings
That we can’t see.
Hiding in the shade
of sun-bathed leaves.
Mirrors don’t shine
With the same gleam
Like they used to
In younger days.
