Why do you make art?
I make art to express my reaction to the circumstances I've been born into. My rage and sorrow and love find a place in my art. I also like to explore parts of myself within characters that both aren't me and are. It's an exercise in empathy. Also, because it's fun. I can create worlds and relationships. As a Black queer fem, I refuse to have white supremacy rob me of my imagination. My art is a constant rejection of the status quo.
