Born into the humdrum of Missoula Montana, 21 year old Makenna Lyric has created music in her bedroom throughout her adolescence, picking up the guitar in 8th grade. Behind the walls of suburbia her fingers have fluttered on strings, and with her nourishing voice explored the birth of Black consciousness and womanhood in an unnurturing and predominantly white environment.   She’s proven herself unafraid of sonic expansion, having collaborated with an abundance of local and national artists. Lyric has crafted a resonant signature sound with the marriage of acoustics and haunting harmonies. A sound that reflects her soulful musical upbringing on Mary J Blige and Deniece Williams, and also encompasses her ever-growing sense of self as she navigates the next stages of her life.
